Take part in this year’s 21st Drive It Day

DRIVE it Day runs in April each year and celebrates the One Thousand Mile Trial, which took place in April 1900 and originally involved an 11-day round Britain tour to demonstrate the viability of the new-fangled invention: the motor car.

The Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs (FBHVC) launched the national Drive it Day back in 2005, and for many, this event marks the start of the historic vehicle driving season.

It is an opportunity to raise awareness and support among the public for the historic vehicle movement, as part of an ongoing campaign to keep transport heritage on UK roads, without restriction.

In recent years, it has entered a partnership with the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC) to raise funds for its Childline service.

FBHVC does this by selling ‘rally plaques’ to historic vehicle owners to display on their vehicles at the events.

Over the past five years, this collaboration has raised over £250,000, a remarkable achievement made possible by the generosity of the historic vehicle community and the unwavering support of FBHVC member clubs and their thousands of enthusiastic members across the UK.
